A stormy start to Friday

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - It’s a stormy start to your Friday as an old frontal boundary washes out over the area.

The stormy period is likely to last through most of the morning before we transition to dry skies this afternoon and evening. Some of the rain will be heavy at times so expect ponding on the roadways over the next several hours. Since the old front remains down at the coast, we’re on the cold side of the boundary so temperatures are in the 40s and 50s as you head out.

Things do look better this weekend as we’re not expecting any type of widespread storm activity. A spotty shower or storm is possible either Saturday or Sunday but the bigger story will be the warmer temperatures and the increase in humidity. Those humid conditions means fog problems do become a concern in the morning hours. Highs over the weekend will return to the 70s.

Our next big storm threat arrives for the first half of next week.
